Whataburger Holiday Hours 2026: Open and Closed Holidays

Whataburger is known for its around-the-clock service, but does that mean you can visit on Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day? Understanding Whataburger Holiday Hours is especially important during the holidays, when restaurant schedules may change.

Whataburger’s published operating policy generally covers 24-hour service, 364 days a year, with exceptions for restaurants inside venues with restricted operating hours. Christmas Day is the major closure, while Christmas Eve has historically featured an early closing time.

However, the company’s previously published Christmas schedule should not automatically be treated as a confirmed schedule for December 2026. This guide explains the established holiday policy, the dates to know in 2026, and how to verify your nearest restaurant before visiting.

Quick Answer

Whataburger generally remains open on major holidays, including Thanksgiving, New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. Christmas Day is the company’s established annual closure.

In its official December 2022 holiday announcement, Whataburger stated that restaurants would close at 6:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve and reopen at 6:00 a.m. on December 26.

Those Christmas times are historical company guidance, not a separately confirmed 2026 announcement. Individual restaurants, particularly locations inside venues with limited hours, may operate differently.

Whataburger Holiday Hours 2026 at a Glance

The following table combines Whataburger’s published general operating policy with its historical Christmas guidance. It does not represent independently confirmed holiday hours for every restaurant.

Important: “Generally open” reflects Whataburger’s published year-round operating policy, not a guarantee that every location will operate continuously on a particular holiday. The company also advises on its individual restaurant pages that holiday hours may differ.

Is Whataburger Open on Thanksgiving 2026?

Yes. Whataburger’s published operating policy includes Thanksgiving among the days restaurants generally remain open.

Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 26, 2026.

Whataburger has also maintained Thanksgiving service in previous years. Its regular 24-hour operating model makes it an option for customers seeking a meal outside traditional holiday dining times.

Nevertheless, an individual restaurant’s holiday schedule should be checked before traveling.

What Time Does Whataburger Open on Thanksgiving?

For a participating restaurant that follows Whataburger’s standard 24-hour operating schedule, there is no separate morning opening time.

However, a location with restricted hours may have a designated opening and closing time.

The best approach is to review the official location page and contact the restaurant directly if its Thanksgiving schedule is not listed.

Does Whataburger Close Early on Thanksgiving?

Whataburger’s established companywide holiday policy does not identify Thanksgiving as a standard early-closing day.

That does not guarantee identical schedules at every restaurant. Location-specific adjustments may apply, so confirm the hours for November 26 before making a late-night visit.

Is Whataburger Open on Christmas Eve 2026?

Whataburger has historically operated on Christmas Eve with an early closing time.

In its official holiday notice published December 21, 2022, the company announced that restaurants would remain open until 6:00 p.m. on December 24.

Christmas Eve falls on Thursday, December 24, in 2026.

Although this historical announcement establishes the company’s previous Christmas operating pattern, a separate nationwide closing schedule for Christmas Eve 2026 was not confirmed in the official information reviewed.

What Time Does Whataburger Close on Christmas Eve?

The previously announced Christmas Eve closing time was 6:00 p.m.

Customers should treat that time as historical guidance until the restaurant confirms its 2026 hours.

A regular 24-hour designation on a location page does not override a special holiday closure.

If you are planning an evening visit, ask the selected restaurant specifically about its Christmas Eve closing time.

Is Whataburger Open on Christmas Day 2026?

No. Christmas Day is Whataburger’s established annual closure under its published company operating policy.

Christmas Day falls on Friday, December 25, 2026.

Whataburger’s official statement describes restaurants as operating 364 days per year, with exceptions for locations inside venues that have limited hours. Its Christmas announcement identifies the closure period extending from Christmas Eve into December 26.

This means customers should not plan on regular restaurant service on Christmas Day.

Is Whataburger Drive-Thru Open on Christmas Day?

You should not expect Whataburger drive-thru service on Christmas Day.

A restaurant that normally offers 24-hour drive-thru service is still subject to the company’s Christmas closure.

Individual location confirmation is appropriate if you are checking a restaurant with an unusual operating arrangement.

When Does Whataburger Reopen After Christmas?

Whataburger’s December 2022 announcement specified a reopening time of 6:00 a.m. on December 26.

In 2026, December 26 falls on a Saturday.

That historical reopening time should not be considered a confirmed guarantee for every restaurant in 2026. Check your location before planning an early-morning visit.

Is Whataburger Open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day?

Whataburger generally operates on both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

These holidays fall within the company’s published 364-day operating schedule.

New Year’s Eve Hours

New Year’s Eve falls on Thursday, December 31, 2026.

Whataburger’s general operating policy does not establish a companywide New Year’s Eve early closure.

For restaurants operating 24 hours, regular service may extend through midnight. However, a 24-hour schedule must be confirmed for the selected restaurant.

New Year’s Day Hours

New Year’s Day falls on Thursday, January 1, 2026.

Whataburger generally remains open on New Year’s Day as part of its regular operating policy.

The next New Year’s Day, January 1, 2027, falls on a Friday.

Customers planning late-night or early-morning visits should verify the hours for their particular location.

Is Whataburger Open on Easter, Memorial Day, and July 4th?

Whataburger’s published operating policy generally includes these holidays.

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday occurred on April 5, 2026.

The company’s general year-round schedule does not identify Easter as a standard closure day.

Restaurants with limited operating hours may follow a different schedule.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day fell on Monday, May 25, 2026.

Whataburger generally operates on Memorial Day under its standard schedule. Restaurant-specific operating hours still apply.

Independence Day

Independence Day fell on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Whataburger’s published operating policy supports general availability on July 4, but customers should not assume that every dining room, drive-thru, and ordering service follows identical hours.

Labor Day

Labor Day occurred on Monday, September 7, 2026.

Whataburger generally remains open on Labor Day. Any location-specific holiday adjustments should be verified with the restaurant.

Do Whataburger Holiday Hours Vary by Location?

Yes. Whataburger’s official restaurant directory shows that operating hours can differ by restaurant and by service type.

Although the company has published a broad 24-hour operating policy, its individual restaurant pages provide more specific information.

Some restaurants maintain 24-hour drive-thru and dining room service. Others have shorter dining room hours or restricted operating schedules.

Examples of Different Whataburger Operating Hours

The following comparison uses regular schedules published on official restaurant location pages reviewed on October 21, 2026.

These are ordinary weekly hours, not confirmed holiday schedules.

The Dallas restaurant at 2900 N Airfield Drive lists a 5:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. drive-thru schedule Monday through Thursday, extended drive-thru hours on Friday and Saturday, and a 9:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m. schedule on Sunday.

These examples demonstrate why 24-hour service should never be assumed for every location.

The official pages also warn that holiday hours may differ.

Whataburger Drive-Thru Hours During Holidays

Whataburger’s drive-thru operating hours may differ from its dining room hours.

This distinction matters particularly during holidays because customers might see a restaurant listed as open 24 hours without knowing which services are available.

Before visiting, distinguish between:

• Drive-thru hours: When customers can place and receive orders through the drive-thru.
• Dine-in hours: When the restaurant’s indoor dining area is available.
• Curbside hours: When curbside pickup is offered.
• Delivery hours: When delivery ordering is available for the selected restaurant.
• Holiday hours: Special schedules that may override ordinary service times.

For example, the official Whataburger page for the Houston restaurant at 2720 W Sam Houston Pkwy S lists a 24-hour drive-thru but shorter dining room hours.

That distinction is important for customers planning late-night visits.

Christmas is an exception: A restaurant’s normal 24-hour drive-thru schedule should not be interpreted as evidence that drive-thru service continues during the company’s Christmas closure.

Does Whataburger Serve Breakfast on Holidays?

Whataburger includes breakfast items on its regular menu, but holiday availability depends on whether the restaurant is open and serving the relevant items.

An open restaurant does not necessarily offer every menu item at every hour.

For a holiday breakfast visit, confirm both the restaurant’s operating hours and the breakfast ordering period.

What Breakfast Items Does Whataburger Offer?

Whataburger’s established breakfast menu includes options such as:

• Breakfast on a Bun
• Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit
• Taquitos
• Biscuit sandwiches
• Pancakes

Menu selections and availability should be confirmed through the current official menu for your chosen location.

A restaurant being open on Thanksgiving or New Year’s Day does not independently establish that every breakfast item will be available at any particular time.

Is Breakfast Available on Christmas Day?

Under Whataburger’s established Christmas Day closure, customers should not expect breakfast service on December 25.

For Christmas Eve or December 26, confirm the location’s specific operating and breakfast-service hours.

Can You Order Whataburger Delivery or Pickup on Holidays?

Ordering methods differ among locations, and their schedules do not necessarily match regular drive-thru hours.

Whataburger’s official location pages distinguish between dine-in, drive-thru, curbside, and delivery service.

A location may provide delivery during hours when another service is unavailable, or may not offer a particular ordering method at all.

Holiday Delivery

Delivery availability must be checked for the selected restaurant and delivery address.

Even when a restaurant is operating, that does not guarantee that delivery will be available throughout the holiday.

Holiday Pickup

Customers may be able to place pickup orders through Whataburger’s ordering system when the selected restaurant offers that service.

Confirm that the pickup option is available for the intended date and time before completing an order.

Christmas Day Orders

Do not assume that a delivery or pickup option can bypass Whataburger’s established Christmas Day closure.

An operating schedule shown for an ordinary weekday is not sufficient confirmation of Christmas service.

How to Check Whataburger Holiday Hours Near You

The most reliable way to confirm hours is to use Whataburger’s own restaurant information rather than relying on a general holiday calendar.

1. Visit Whataburger’s official website. Open the restaurant location finder.
2. Select your restaurant. Search by city, ZIP code, or location.
3. Review the posted hours. Pay attention to separate drive-thru, dine-in, curbside, and delivery schedules.
4. Look for holiday notices. A regular operating schedule may not reflect special Christmas or Thanksgiving hours.
5. Check the Whataburger ordering system. Select the restaurant and review the available ordering options.
6. Call the restaurant directly. This is particularly useful when holiday hours have not yet been posted.

Google Maps can provide a secondary check, but its regular business-hours listing should not be treated as final confirmation of special holiday schedules.

For Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the morning of December 26, direct confirmation is especially important.

Does Whataburger Have Special Holiday Menu Items or Deals?

Whataburger offers regular menu items as well as limited-time products and promotions.

However, a limited-time menu launch during the holiday season is not necessarily a Christmas promotion or a guarantee of holiday availability.

On October 20, 2026, Whataburger announced a seasonal Bacon Blaze lineup that includes the Bacon Blaze Jalapeño Double and other limited-time offerings.

That announcement establishes a current seasonal menu promotion, but it does not establish special restaurant operating hours or confirm availability on Christmas Day.

For holiday deals and menu options, review Whataburger’s current official promotions and the ordering menu for your selected restaurant.

Prices and eligibility may depend on the restaurant and the terms of the offer.

Sources & Verification

This guide was researched and updated on October 21, 2026, using Whataburger’s official published materials.

The primary information reviewed included:

• Whataburger’s official Holiday Restaurant Hours announcement, dated December 21, 2022.
• Whataburger’s official restaurant location pages for selected restaurants in Texas and Oklahoma.
• Whataburger’s official newsroom for current company announcements and seasonal menu information.

The 2022 Christmas notice is used as historical evidence of Whataburger’s established holiday operating pattern. It is not represented as a separately confirmed 2026 Christmas schedule.

The individual restaurant pages were reviewed to clarify differences between regular drive-thru, dining room, curbside, and delivery hours. They do not establish special holiday hours unless explicitly stated.

Before You Go

The most important distinction in Whataburger Holiday Hours 2026 is between its generally available year-round service and its established Christmas closure.

Whataburger generally remains open on Thanksgiving, New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and other major holidays.

Christmas Eve historically has an early closing time of 6:00 p.m., while Christmas Day is the company’s established annual closure. Previous company guidance identified 6:00 a.m. on December 26 as the reopening time.

Because the specific Christmas 2026 schedule has not been separately confirmed in the official materials reviewed, check your selected Whataburger restaurant before traveling, particularly for evening, overnight, or early-morning visits.
