KFC Holiday Hours 2026: Thanksgiving, Christmas & More

KFC holiday hours are not governed by one publicly posted U.S.-wide timetable. That matters most around Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and other major holidays, when an individual restaurant may close, shorten its hours, or follow a different schedule from nearby KFC locations.

KFC’s official U.S. locator publishes operating hours for individual restaurants, but as of September 25, 2026, KFC has not published a complete national 2026 holiday-hours calendar covering every U.S. location. For upcoming holidays, the safest approach is to check the specific restaurant you plan to visit rather than relying on a generic chain-wide schedule.

Quick Answer

There is no single set of KFC holiday hours that can reliably be applied to every U.S. restaurant in 2026. Regular hours already differ between locations, and holiday schedules can differ as well.

For Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and other holidays, check your restaurant through the official KFC location finder and confirm the holiday schedule close to your visit. Do not assume that regular hours displayed for an ordinary weekday will automatically apply on a holiday.

KFC Holiday Hours 2026 at a Glance

Because KFC has not published a complete nationwide 2026 holiday schedule, unverified opening or closing times should not be treated as chain-wide hours.

The table deliberately does not assign invented “typical” opening and closing times. An exact time is useful only when it belongs to the restaurant you actually intend to visit.

Is KFC Open on Holidays?

KFC restaurants can operate on holidays, but there is no current official U.S. holiday calendar showing that every restaurant follows the same schedule.

This distinction is important because even regular operating hours differ substantially between KFC restaurants. The official KFC locator currently lists thousands of U.S. locations and allows customers to search by city, state, or ZIP code.

Holiday opening should therefore be treated as a location-specific question unless KFC or the individual restaurant publishes a confirmed schedule for that holiday.

Is KFC Open on Thanksgiving 2026?

Thanksgiving Day falls on Thursday, November 26, 2026.

As of September 25, 2026, a nationwide KFC U.S. Thanksgiving Day schedule for 2026 is not publicly confirmed on KFC’s official location directory. It would therefore be inaccurate to say that every KFC will either be open or closed on Thanksgiving.

There is evidence that individual KFC operators can establish their own holiday closures. For example, the AJS KFC restaurant group states that all of its locations are closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. That is useful evidence of operator-level variation, but it should not be applied to every KFC in the country.

KFC also promoted a Thanksgiving-season meal in November 2025, but that promotion does not establish operating hours for Thanksgiving Day 2026.

If you plan to order KFC on Thanksgiving, verify your specific restaurant before traveling or placing holiday meal plans around it.

Is KFC Open on Christmas Day 2026?

Christmas Day falls on Friday, December 25, 2026.

KFC has not published a current nationwide Christmas Day 2026 timetable establishing one opening or closing policy for every U.S. restaurant. Individual operator information shows that at least some KFC restaurants close on Christmas Day, but this should not be generalized into an unsupported claim that every U.S. KFC will be closed.

For Christmas Day, use the official location page for your selected restaurant and consider calling the restaurant directly when its holiday schedule is not explicitly displayed.

KFC Christmas Eve Hours 2026

Christmas Eve is Thursday, December 24, 2026.

Do not assume your restaurant’s normal Thursday hours will apply. KFC does not currently provide a single official Christmas Eve 2026 closing time for all U.S. restaurants.

A restaurant may publish special holiday hours closer to December 24. Checking again on Christmas Eve or shortly beforehand is more reliable than using regular weekly hours months in advance.

KFC New Year’s Day Hours

New Year’s Day 2026 was Thursday, January 1, 2026. For future New Year’s Day visits, operating hours should be checked at the restaurant level rather than assumed from a nationwide schedule.

KFC’s official location pages provide current weekly operating hours for individual restaurants, which can be used as a starting point. Holiday-specific hours should still be confirmed separately when displayed hours do not explicitly identify the holiday.

KFC New Year’s Eve Hours 2026

New Year’s Eve falls on Thursday, December 31, 2026.

There is no verified nationwide KFC closing time for New Year’s Eve 2026. A restaurant’s schedule may differ from its regular Thursday hours, so confirm the selected location before making a late-evening trip.

KFC Easter Hours

Easter Sunday fell on April 5, 2026.

KFC’s official U.S. location directory does not provide a universal Easter schedule covering every restaurant. Because individual restaurant hours differ, a chain-wide Easter opening or closing time should not be assumed.

For future Easter visits, check the selected location rather than relying on a general KFC schedule.

KFC Memorial Day Hours

Memorial Day fell on Monday, May 25, 2026.

There is no complete official KFC national Memorial Day timetable establishing identical hours for every restaurant. Location-specific operating information remains the more reliable source.

KFC Independence Day Hours

Independence Day fell on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

KFC restaurant hours can differ even on ordinary days, and there is no single official July 4 timetable covering every U.S. KFC restaurant. Customers should use the individual location page for future Independence Day planning.

KFC Labor Day Hours

Labor Day fell on Monday, September 7, 2026.

A nationwide Labor Day schedule with one opening and closing time for every KFC restaurant is not published by KFC. The individual restaurant’s official listing is the appropriate place to verify operating hours.

Do KFC Holiday Hours Vary by Location?

Yes, location-level differences are important when checking KFC hours.

The official KFC directory demonstrates that restaurants do not all maintain identical regular schedules. For example, current official listings in Erie, Pennsylvania show some restaurants operating substantially different daily hours from other KFC locations in the same city. Official listings in Salt Lake City similarly show different closing times between restaurants.

These are regular operating-hour examples, not holiday schedules. They illustrate why a generic chain-wide timetable should not be substituted for the actual location you plan to visit.

KFC’s global corporate information also confirms that franchising is part of the brand’s U.S. history. However, the safest consumer-facing approach is still to verify the exact restaurant rather than assuming that ownership structure alone determines its holiday schedule.

Regular KFC Hours Are Not the Same Everywhere

A national “standard KFC hours” table can be misleading.

Official KFC pages currently show examples such as:

These official listings were checked in September 2026. They demonstrate location variation; they do not establish what those restaurants will do on Thanksgiving, Christmas, or another holiday.

Holiday hours can require a separate check.

How to Check KFC Holiday Hours Near You

The most reliable method is KFC’s official restaurant locator.

1. Open the official KFC location finder.
2. Enter your city, state, or ZIP code.
3. Select the exact restaurant you plan to visit.
4. Review the operating hours displayed for that restaurant.
5. Look for special holiday information as the holiday approaches.
6. Call the restaurant directly if holiday-specific hours are not clearly listed.

KFC Official Location Finder

The official locator also allows filtering for certain services, including drive-thru and delivery. That can help you identify a suitable restaurant before checking its individual hours.

Google Maps can be useful as a secondary reference, but normal opening hours on a map listing should not automatically be interpreted as confirmed holiday hours.

KFC Drive-Thru Hours on Holidays

Do not assume that KFC drive-thru hours are identical to holiday restaurant hours.

KFC’s official locator lets users filter locations offering drive-thru service, and individual location pages identify available services. However, the existence of a drive-thru does not establish that it will remain open for normal hours on Thanksgiving, Christmas, or another holiday.

Check the individual restaurant or contact it directly when drive-thru availability is important to your visit.

KFC Delivery and Pickup on Holidays

Delivery and pickup availability should also be verified for the specific restaurant.

Official KFC location pages can identify locations offering delivery and online ordering. However, regular delivery availability does not guarantee that the service will operate for the same hours on a holiday.

A restaurant may also be closed even if an ordering platform still displays its listing. Select the restaurant in KFC’s ordering system and check whether ordering is actually available for the date and time you need.

Check Holiday Availability in the KFC App or Online

KFC provides online ordering at participating restaurants, and official location pages direct customers to ordering options where available.

Selecting your actual restaurant is important because the ordering experience can reflect location-specific availability. If ordering is unavailable, that alone should not be used to infer a specific reason such as a holiday closure; use the restaurant’s official hours or contact the location for confirmation.

Planning a Large KFC Holiday Order

If you need KFC for a family gathering or another holiday event, verify both the restaurant’s hours and whether it can accommodate the order you want.

Do not assume that:

• Regular hours will apply on the holiday.
• Every KFC will be open.
• Every restaurant will close.
• Drive-thru and dining-room hours will be identical.
• Delivery will operate for the entire restaurant schedule.
• A previous year’s holiday promotion will return in 2026.
• A holiday offer at one restaurant will be available nationwide.

For a time-sensitive or large order, contacting the selected restaurant directly provides the clearest confirmation.

Sources & Verification

This guide was checked on September 25, 2026, using KFC’s official U.S. restaurant directory and individual official KFC location pages. KFC’s corporate information was also reviewed for brand and U.S. restaurant context.

The official directory confirms that regular operating hours differ among individual KFC restaurants. No complete KFC U.S. holiday calendar establishing one set of 2026 Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and New Year’s hours for every restaurant was found in the official sources reviewed.

AJS KFC’s operator website was used only as an example of a restaurant group explicitly publishing Thanksgiving and Christmas closures. Its policy is not presented as a nationwide KFC policy.

The safest source for a trip is always the current information attached to the exact KFC restaurant you intend to visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is KFC open on Thanksgiving 2026?

Thanksgiving is November 26, 2026. A chain-wide KFC U.S. opening or closing policy for every restaurant is not currently confirmed. Some individual operators explicitly close their restaurants on Thanksgiving, so verify your selected location.

Is KFC open on Christmas Day 2026?

Christmas Day is December 25, 2026. A universal Christmas Day schedule for every U.S. KFC restaurant is not currently published. Check the specific location before visiting.

What time does KFC close on Christmas Eve?

There is no single verified KFC Christmas Eve 2026 closing time that applies to every U.S. restaurant. Check the official location page and call the restaurant if special hours are not displayed.

Is KFC open on New Year’s Eve?

New Year’s Eve hours for December 31, 2026 should be verified by location. Do not assume a restaurant’s normal Thursday closing time will apply.

Not necessarily. Regular weekly hours and holiday hours are different pieces of information. A normal Monday–Sunday schedule does not prove that the restaurant will keep those hours on a holiday.

Is the KFC drive-thru open on holidays?

That depends on the restaurant and holiday. The official locator identifies restaurants with drive-thru service, but holiday drive-thru availability should be confirmed with the selected location.

Where can I find my local KFC holiday hours?

Use the official KFC restaurant locator and select the exact restaurant you plan to visit. If holiday-specific hours are unclear, call that restaurant directly.

Before You Go

The key thing to remember about KFC holiday hours is that a generic national schedule cannot reliably tell you whether your specific restaurant will be open at a particular time.

This is especially important for Thanksgiving on November 26, Christmas Eve on December 24, Christmas Day on December 25, and New Year’s Eve on December 31, 2026. Check the exact KFC location shortly before your visit and confirm directly with the restaurant when its holiday schedule is not clearly posted.
